Vendor Management

Alabama WIC vendors (grocery stores authorized to accept WIC) are an important part of the WIC Program. WIC vendors ensure that WIC participants receive the nutritious foods issued by the WIC Program. There are over 700 approved WIC vendors that help to improve health outcomes for Alabama Women, Infants and Children.

Become a WIC Vendor

In recognition of the significant time and attention required for authorized Alabama WIC vendors and WIC vendor representatives to successfully transition from a paper- based delivery system to an electronic based system known as eWIC, the Alabama WIC Program will implement a Vendor Readiness Period from December 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019.

The Alabama WIC Program will stop accepting applications from prospective vendors November 30, 2018 at 5:00 PM CST. All vendor applications received prior to this date will be processed. We will begin accepting applications October 1, 2019.
