2019 Fish Consumption Advisories - ADPH annually updates fish consumption advisories based on data collected the preceding fall by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM). New and updated consumption advisories issued for the 40 bodies of water tested can be found on our Toxicology website.

Alabama 2020 Census - The U.S. Census Bureau conducts a census of the United States every 10 years. The Census affects the amount of funding your community receives, how your community plans for the future, and your representation in government. The next Census is set for April 1, 2020. You can respond in three ways: online, telephone or traditional paper form.

Back-To-School Vaccines - Parents must submit an up-to-date Certificate of Immunization for each child planning to attend any Alabama school or child care center. See our list of recommended vaccines to make sure your child is on schedule.

Foodborne Illness Complaint Form - Did a meal make you sick? ADPH uses information from foodborne illness complaints to better identify and investigate illness and food establishments. If you got sick after eating at a restaurant or a catered event, please fill out our Foodborne Illness Complaint Form.

Health Issues and Challenges Survey - ADPH asks all Alabamians, 19 and older, to complete a short online survey. Knowing what Alabama communities consider the most important issues will help ADPH serve all communities better in the future.

2019 Infant Mortality Reduction Summit - Join us for the 2019 Infant Mortality Reduction Summit on September 26-27 in Prattville. There will be plenary and breakout sessions focused on equity, breastfeeding, mental health, and more. CEUs will be provided to social workers and nurses. The deadline to register is September 13.

Focus Rallies for 7-12 Graders and Adults - The 17th Annual FOCUS Rally, an annual event for students in grades 7-12 and adult school chaperones, is being held in Tuscaloosa on September 10, and Talladega on September 18. This year's keynote speaker is Noah Galloway. Topics include: vaping, opiate epidemic, bullying, suicide, and more.

Twelfth Annual Women's Health Update - The Office of Women's Health Twelfth Annual Women's Health Update will be held Friday, August 2, 2019, at the Grandview Medical Center Auditorium in Birmingham, Alabama. Continuing education units for registered nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, social workers, dietitians, and other health care providers are available.

Regional Training for After School - Teachers and after-school staff are invited to a series of free training sessions featuring education specialist Dr. Gale Gorke who will cover the following topics: Engagement - The "Unselfie;" Nutrition and Self Care; Empathy - Violence Prevention; and Special Needs and Inclusion on July 22 (Huntsville), July 23 (Pelham), July 24 (Greenville) and July 25 (Mobile).

Employee Health & Fitness Walk - Make your plans to participate in the annual Employee Health & Fitness Walk on May 3rd. This event will include a one-mile "Fun Walk" around the State Capitol and will offer MULTIPLE START TIMES beginning at 10:30 a.m. Vendors will share health and fitness information beginning at 10:00 a.m. and snacks and drinks will be available at the finish line after each scheduled walk. Prizes will be available after the event - you do not need to be present to win.
