Clinical Services

Alabama Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program

Breast and cervical cancer screening is provided to women ages 40-64 who are uninsured and meet income guidelines. Visit the Alabama Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program for information on screenings.

Family Planning

Birth control information and counseling, including abstinence counseling and a suitable method of contraception, are available to those in the childbearing age group. Physical examinations, including Pap smears, are done before birth control supplies are given. Sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing and pregnancy testing are also available. Health Insurance

Free or low-cost health care coverage is available to all eligible children under the age of 19 years. This health care coverage is provided by ALL Kids or Medicaid. Visit ALL Kids for more information and to apply. Applications for these programs are available in our office or by calling toll free 1-888-373-5437 (KIDS).

Coverage for family planning services for women ages 19 to 55 is available through Plan First. Visit Plan First for details of services and enrollment information.

Immunizations

Immunizations are available to prevent polio, diphtheria, tetanus (lockjaw), pertussis (whooping cough), measles, mumps, rubella (German measles), Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type B), and Hepatitis B (under specific guidelines). Infants should begin receiving immunizations at two months of age. A certificate of immunization is required for entry into day care centers, Head Start, and public and private schools through grade 12. Flu and pneumonia vaccines are also offered to the public by appointment and during walk in clinics. For more information, visit the Immunization Program.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV/AIDS

Confidential investigation, examination, counseling, and treatment of STDs and/or HIV and AIDS are provided for anyone age 12 or older. For more information, visit the Division of STD Prevention and Control or the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control.

Tuberculosis (TB)

Tuberculin skin test, sputum test, and X-rays (if indicated) are available to anyone for diagnosis and treatment of TB. Medications are provided if indicated. For more information, visit the Division of Tuberculosis Control.

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

Health assessments, supplemental food, and nutrition education are available to pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age five. For more information, call (256) 329-0531 or (256) 825-9203 or visit our WIC Program page.
